Frequently Asked Questions

What is an "enforcement of judgment"?

In the court system, enforcement of the judgment is left to the parties of the lawsuit. When the judgment debtor ( loser ) does not comply with the court awarded judgment, it is left up to the judgment creditor ( winner ) to obtain the settlement.

I have a judgment awarded to me but can't get my money, what do I do?

You have two choices, hire an attorney at a fixed price with no guarantees of recovery, or you can contact our firm and get the process started with absolutely no cost to you. Each case is handled on a contingency basis, so if we are not successful, you don't owe us a thing... ever!

What do you mean by "contingency" basis?

Simply put, we work on a percentage of the judgment. If we don't get any settlement for you, then we don't get paid. Therefore, we are going to try harder to get your money.

How will you locate the judgment debtor?

American Judgment Recovery has access to millions of records. We work with credit reporting agencies to obtain a credit report, which contains vital information necessary to locate and process the recovery.

After you locate the debtor, what happens?

We will start the process to seize bank accounts, garnish wages, place liens on property, etc. We WILL get the money.

How long will this take?

Each case is different, depending on the course of action taken, but usually around 30-60 days.
